E-Verify Employment Verification Program

First Tennessee is required by law to participate in the E-Verify Employment Verification Program (E-Verify). E-Verify is an internet-based system operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA). Employers may use the system to verify the identity and employment eligibility of those hired to work in the United States. First Tennessee will process all new hires through E-Verify, and will provide the SSA, and, if necessary, the DHS, with information from each new employee’s Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
