The Financial Services industry has been working to modernize systems to allow ACH deposits and payments such as automatic drafts and paper check conversions to move at a faster pace. As part of these improvements, beginning Friday, September 15, 2017, certain electronic payments may post to your account(s) the same day they are initiated. While these types of payments will likely not be reflected in your account history as quickly as debit card and ATM transactions, you will begin to see transactions appear more quickly. This will allow you to view a more accurate balance of available funds when using Online and Mobile Banking.
Preauthorized electronic payments, such as your mortgage or insurance payments, are unlikely to be affected by these changes as these payments are debited on a specified effective date. However, this is a good opportunity for you to review the agreement with your service provider and verify the effective date of your payment(s). As always, the Bank will continue to post payments on the effective date of the transaction, as indicated by the payment originator.
